A true native of the pacific northwest will know this who clown is.
It's J.P. Patches on a 1934 VLD Harley Davidson!
I want to thank  J.P. Patches for taking his time sit on my old motorcycle for this picture.
Thanks for the years of enjoyment that his program "The J.P. Patches Show" gave all the Patches Pals
on good old channel  7 KIRO, when you were on the air.
      Thank You J.P.   "Onions"
Keep the Rubber Side Down

P.S. Thanks for all the cartoons and the memories!

The 23rd Cycle World International Motorcycle Show presented by Toyota Trucks in Seattle was great.
Hope you had a good time looking at the new bikes and watching the Balls of Steel Stunt team. Was that not a mind
boggling ride, Woo boy! These guys put on a good show! A big hand for the BOSS team. I also hope you checked out
the vintage display's, The Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts had some beautiful bikes for the show and of course the
Onionwerks Vintage Display! I enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to see you there next year.  "Onions"

The goal of the Onionwerks is to promote the restoration of Motorcycles and the enjoyment of riding them.
Having a new bike is cool and not to mention practical. I myself have a 2001 BMW K1200LT and I have got to confess,
those heated grips, seat and backrest can make that commute to work just a little more comfortable. But the old bikes are
just as fun to ride as they are to restore. Restoring an old bike is a great hobby to. If your down in the garage working on
your old scooter, it might keep keep you out of trouble.

Well maybe not, but I enjoy the learning that it takes to restore a particular bike, what option or parts,
stock or not stock that make each model and make special and I hope you do too if you like working on old stuff.
Like I stated it can be a great hobby for old and the young. Although you can't be afraid to get greasy!
The vintage display at Onionwerks showed a few bikes that were unrestored to show just what you might find in your search.
They may be covered in moss or pine needles. They may come with boxes of parts, not all fitting on the motorcycle they come
with. They may be in original trim and color and the only restoration they need is and good cleaning, of course they may
still be a few bugs in the works before they run good. "Now where do I find parts for a Honda super 90?" It has already begun.

Young People! Stay in school and learn as much as you can. If you are into motorcycles and automobiles take any
mechanics, math, design or auto shop classes your school offers along with the ABC's and keep away from drugs.
Alcohol at least until your legal age and Never drink and DRIVE, not even in the dirt, dirt bike and trail riding requires
a lot of skill and attention when your riding. Also wear your safety gear and that's for all of you fellow riders out there.
Helmet, boots, gloves, proper eye protection are the right thing to do. In the dirt chest protector, motocross boots, knee pads
are good ways to protect yourself.
Keep that Rubber Side Down. Ride Safely

I would also like to thank the Summer and the staff of the Power Sports Group and Advanstar for letting me
put the Onionwerks vintage display at the 23rd Cycle World International Motorcycle Show presented by Toyota Trucks.
You did fantastic job for Onionwerks and the Onions wants to thank you for it. I had a lot of fun putting it together,
see you next year with another vintage display.
